With 16 years experience and many thousands of cars delivered, American Car Imports from our office and showrooms in London, provide an unrivalled “turnkey” service in the importation and supply of new American vehicles to order. Every vehicle we buy is physically inspected by our American partner Company to ensure after an independent check that your vehicle is unmarked, has minimal mileage, is free of finance and is not subject to any outstanding recalls. Some importers miss-out this crucial stage of the transaction to save money- but once the vehicle has been shipped it is too late! 

We offer a trusted and professional approach to the supply and ownership of all makes and models of American vehicles and will never be knowingly undersold.

We will consider taking any vehicle in part exchange. We are able to price your vehicle exactly on our Dealer Pricing system, and are then able to locate or order it directly from the Manufacturer. Unlike the myriad of firms selling cars on the INTERNET, our role is to not only to locate or order the vehicle of your choice, but to provide you with a very high level of service in the supply of the vehicle and for as long as you own the vehicle.

Experience

American Car Imports is the most experienced firm in the UK at compliance with the Single Vehicle Approval regulations for American vehicles, having presented hundreds of vehicles for the SVA test with a 100% pass record. Within our own in-house Type Approval and Electrical Engineering laboratory, we make an assessment of what is required for each vehicle to successfully pass the Single Vehicle Approval test.  We chair the American Import Agents Association (AIAA), giving you the confidence that we are recognised by the Government as leading experts in this field having led all the discussions with them on the SVA regulations.
 
With the increasing use of computer technology in each new generation of vehicle, it is essential to “Engineer” a technically sound and SAFE solution for conversion to UK specifications. The new 2006 Ford Mustang and 2006 Chevrolet Corvette C6 are examples of the quantum leap forward in the use of micro-systems controlling many of the cars functions, including the lights. We design and manufacture necessary modifications to each vehicle in a safe and aesthetically pleasing way. With our engineering solutions, you will not be risking your own safety or the chance of expensive damage AND you will not have the appearance of your vehicle ruined by unsightly and careless modifications.   It is a very important aspect of our work that we aim to maintain the original “American” appearance of your vehicle.

1) The Retail Motor Industry Federation member.

2) Financial Services Authority  to advise on Warranties.

3) Information Commissioner registered under the Data Protection Act.

4) Office Of Fair Trading.

5) DVLA, American Car Imports are issued with advanced allocation of registration marks from the local DVRO office and register your vehicle on the V5 as a new, first registered UK vehicle - NOT as a vehicle that has been "previously registered and used overseas".

6) call upon our services as “Trade Experts” in valuing American vehicles entering the UK.

We have an exclusive warranty arrangement with the  whereby we can cover your vehicle for 3-years on an unlimited mileage, parts & labour basis throughout the UK & the EEC, with an individual claim limit to a value of £10,000.  The total claims can be up to the value of the vehicle.

American Car Imports is a family business, founded by brothers-in-law Anthony Cohen and Jon Cohen in 1991. By placing your trust with our team, we aim to offer you complete peace of mind for as long as you own your vehicle.  As the vehicles we sell are unusual in the UK, the closeness of our relationship is a very important part of our service..

Anthony with a BA Honours Degree in Economics from Manchester University worked extensively in the USA in Accounting and Finance before returning to the UK with his American wife. He then worked for Marks and Spencer starting in store management for 3 years followed by a further 7 years running a £50M buying department in the Head Office. The importance of providing a first class service along with value for money were the most important "lessons learned."

Jon, a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management with “large industry” experience had 10 years prior sales and marketing experience in the Office Equipment Industry. He joined forces with Anthony to set up American Car Imports with “big business” experience combined with enthusiasm for the American Car Scene. Both Directors believe in offering a service to the consumer with a customer focus modelled on the “American way of doing things”.
