V8 ACI, AMERICAN CAR IMPORTS SPONSORS GEORGE GREVES
American Car Imports is pleased to announce the continued involvement and sponsorship of George Greves for another year.
George Greves is competing with a red 2002 Ford Lightning in the Sportsman ET class. His best result to date is an ET of 12.61 @ 108 mph for the ¼ mile. The truck develops currently approx. 650 bhp out of the stock 5.4 V8 block – responsible for the high output is a new bottom pulley supercharger with 16 psi (the standard item has only 8 psi), a 4Y powerchip with different programmes at different stages, a performance airfilter and a straight through stainless steel exhaust system with 4 silencers among other modifications. Assisting to get all that power stable on the track are 2 traction bars at the back end and Hoosier Quick Time Pro Slick tyres at the rear axle. George’s Lightning, despite all those enhancements still fully street legal and used daily to get ordinary jobs done. Apart from the above modifications it’s still stock and has kept all the luxury items… even the power sapping air conditioning and CD-changer haven’t been removed. Next step is fitting a nitrous oxide kit – which hopefully will bring the ET into the 11’s.
