AMERICAN CAR IMPORTS RACING LAUNCHED
Team Nemesis and valued marketing partner American
Car Imports have formed a partnership that will see them campaigning a new
Top Methanol dragster at all RAC and FIA championship events in 2002 under the
American Car Imports Racing banner.
The team have purchased a chassis in North
America from Canadian racer Bob Haffner, which they will campaign at the NHRA
Winternationals in Pomona, California in February. They aim to qualify and for
the new car to be the quickest in Europe, when it is shipped home for the start
of the European season.
To aid the team in these quests, and their goals of the
RAC and FIA championship titles, the very latest in chassis, supercharger and
data logging technology have been purchased, giving the group a dragster with
specifications very similar to that of five time NHRA National champion Rick Santos.
"With many of our customers regular visitors to Santa Pod and Avon Park,
we are determined to enhance the natural association of the American vehicle scene
and Drag Racing in the UK, by significantly increasing our involvement in the
Top Methanol class," commented Anthony Cohen, Director of American Car Imports.
"We are very proud to be doing this in conjunction with the 2001 Nemesis
team with whom we were a sponsor last year"
"We have never had a better
opportunity than this to win the RAC and FIA championships" added Team Nemesis
Crew Chief Andy Bissett. "The whole team is totally motivated to win."
American Car Imports is the UK market leader in supplying new and late-model American
cars, trucks and vans. ACI have been in business for eleven years and is the founder
member of the American Import Agents Association.
