FROM ACI FLYER TO ACI STEAMROLLER!!!!!
Well for the 2004 season it was known as the ACI Flyer, but now we can only call it the ACI Steamroller after another stunning performance to start off 2005 in style!
With the win already under their belts at the Easter Thunderball, Grumpy and the team set about defending their FIA series crown in style and really came out swinging!
The first qualifying session showed the shape of things to come as Dave rocketed to a 5.44, 252mph run to establish a lead that was never relinquished over the course of the weekend.
In fact, the number 2 qualifier, Rob Turner was barely within a tenth of a second of the steamroller’s number 1 shot and that was before Grumpy put even more distance on the field during eliminations.

Team ACI and Germany’s peter Schofer about square off in the semi finals.
A parts and time saving into stage/solo run in the first round was followed by a terrific 5.425 at 249 mph to send Germanys Peter Schofer back to Bavaria. What made it even more gratifying was this reset the teams European record from last season and the steamroller wasn’t done yet……….
Waiting in the final was Britain’s Rob Turner having previously seen off Timo Habermann, the other German team.
In true dominating ‘Grumpy’ fashion Dave, left on Tuner at the line and then streaked to another record setting 5.422, 248 mph win to easily outdistance Tuner’s stout 5.60 effort.
Needless to say the whole ACI team were delighted with the win and the records, so now its onto Finland to see if the worlds fastest steamroller can keep on rolling…………
